Serious Question

I've been thinking a lot lately.

And also taking a lot of art classes concerning different types of medium. So far, I've diddled in photography, ceramics, intermedia, printmaking, design, and now painting. I could scratch two off that list and be happy working in the remaining. The top three for me, in order, are photography, painting and ceramics.

Relatively, I'm pretty glad I tried nearly all departments and found the ones I could see myself working with in the future. Photography being the top priority, I could use it for several things; commercial, weddings, portraits, journalism, self. I could use Ceramics for well...making my own dishes. With Painting, it's something I already do, but digitally. But now, since I'm taking a traditional painting class with oil medium, I might prefer it over digital. I'll have the practice of mixing colors manually instead of using the "eyedropper" tool in Photoshop to pick colors for me.

I don't even know where I'm going with this post. I just felt I had to get it out. Mainly, I'm thankful that I experimented and found what I want to do with my life. Heyo, go me.

Chu. Choo. Choose. Shoo. Shoes!

'Ello!

So, yesterday, my lovely decided to tell me she had a surprise for me while I was at work, at the beginning of my shift, even. And so that left me quite anticipatory. She left me a text message asking what time the Mall opened, and I told her. So that gave me a clue that she was buying something for me to wear. As I was clueless as to what the occasion was, once I finally got off work I headed to her place and found a square object tucked under the blankets of her bed.

"Don't sit there!" Whoops... I nearly crushed my surprise apparently, but it turned out to be okay. So there I was, staring at her, at this wrapped present like it was my birthday. On top of the box was this gorgeous birthday card with a kitty on the front. I read it, then attacked the box. Shoes! She wanted to celebrate my 21st birthday, on my half birthday since I didn't get to celebrate it the first time around. She wasn't around then (haven't met) and I was going through a tough time when I turned. So, it felt really nice that she put thought into it. I'm one lucky fella.

On another note! After all of these favors and commissions, I'll be doing some of my own concepts before school starts back up. So, hopefully I can get some good painting done before then. Anyways, that's all for now. Thanks for tuning in, if you did.

Death

Oh, your toilet is clogged? By chance, did you happen to have a Snickers, PayDay, or any assortment of nuts? I seem to have found the problem. There was a squirrel lodged in the pipes. See?

Breakin' Ice with Curry Spice!

I figured I'd give a little update on what I'm doing lately.

What I plan for is to paint my little bunz off everyday, and in the meantime, I also am welcoming commissions*. That means I'll paint you a little ditty for a fair price. I don't plan on ripping anybody off. Let's say 90 USD for a 5x7? Chyeah right! I'm not a dick. I'll post my rates below.

I'll be charging $2.33 per square inch. Reasonable?

5"x7" = $15.00 (USD)Standard Art Card
8"x10" = $30.00 (USD)Standard Paper Size, given border.
11"x12" or "Custom Large" = $60.00 (USD)

*commissions will consist of character illustrations with lineart and digital coloring/shading. If you'd like anything different, we can discuss it over email. brett-warden@uiowa.edu

Once I set up a Paypal account, that's how I'll accept payments. Or, if you know me personally, payment in person will also work.

Once I finish up some requests that I've taken recently for free, I'll open the commission status. I just don't have time to work on free stuff anymore now that I'm coming up on my last undergraduate year and will soon have to apply for jobs and such.

Thanks for tuning in, everyone.

'Ello Everyone.

I believe it's about time I started a blog where I can take dumps... of ART, you perve!

Anyways, this is where I'll be posting my in progress and finished works. I know, I know. Who's going to look at this anyways? You never know. I just need a spot to put me things. Okie?

Perfect!

Here's a current concept I'm working on for my next mini game. Something to do with jetpacks and reaching certain parts of a level, plus farting. Can't go wrong with that.

I think that's all for now. I'll be posting more soon when I gather some stuff to put up. Thanks for viewing, friends.
